Education
I graduated from the Department of Psychology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2013 and gained a license to practice psychology. I continued with postgraduate studies (MSc) in the Department of Educational Sciences of the University of Nicosia, specializing in Special Education.
In Thessaloniki, during with my studies, I was trained for 4 years in Greek Sign Language and obtained the Diploma of Adequacy from the Hellenic Federation of the Deaf. I was also certified in Braille.
I have attended training seminars in music therapy, music-motor education and theatrical play and obtained certifications in child psychology, school psychology, child drawing (painting) analysis, in diagnostic evaluation and methods of intervention in developmental disorders, in migration issues, in adults’ education.
Currently, I am training in the 4-year specialization of Systemic Psychotherapy, at the Systemic study and treatment center of Thessaloniki (KeSMeTH).
Voluntary Offering
I have volunteered for two years in the pediatric department of AHEPA Hospital, in Thessaloniki, in collaboration with the Association “Lampsi”, as well as for six months in the Day Center “KIPOS” in Volos, for the promotion of mental health. In addition, I was a member of the accessibility team of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, which carries out a number of information and awareness-raising activities on the issue of accessibility for people with disabilities, in the city of Thessaloniki.
Professional Experience
I have worked in primary schools in the Municipality of Volos, giving speeches to parents and teachers, counseling for parents and students, as well as a number of experiential emotional education activities in the classroom.
In addition, I have worked as an associate psychologist in private Special Education Centers, providing specialized intervention programs for developmental disorders, learning difficulties and psycho-emotional difficulties, as well as counseling for parents of children with disabilities. Moreover, I have worked in the Social Protection Department of the Municipality of Volos, providing psychological support to vulnerable social groups, as well as in the refugee accommodation center “Mozas”, conducting individual sessions of psychological support with refugees and parent counseling.
I have also participated in the pilot application of cubes coding at the Volos Nursing Home, an innovative programming game, based on the doctoral dissertation of Dr. Theodosis Sapounidis, Special Technical Laboratory Staff member of the Department of Philosophy and Pedagogy of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, compiling the report on the results of the application of the game in old age.
Now, I maintain my private office in the center of Volos, providing individual psychotherapy for adults, children and adolescents, couple therapy, parent and family counseling, online sessions (via skype), as well as specialized intervention programs for pervasive developmental disorders (autism, etc.).
